Janine Catalano
Yoga works! That’s what Janine concluded after years of practice. She took her first yoga class in early 2004 as a way to stay active while recovering from a knee injury sustained while practicing martial arts. The structure and repetition of Bikram yoga was similar to the structure of martial arts which she found calming. For years, she practiced yoga primarily as a physical practice as an adjunct to other, often more strenuous activities. Around 2009, Janine branched out and began studying with Robert Boustany and other teachers. She began to appreciate the mental, spiritual, and energetic components of yoga. After finally realizing (and admitting!) that yoga was an inextricable part of her life, Janine decided to pursue teacher training solely as a way to deepen her own practice. During her 200 hour training with Kim Taurins, Janine discovered her passion for sharing her yoga with others. Janine also enjoys the more subtle aspects of yoga. She has studied restorative with Melissa Smith and yin with Rhia Robinson and Kristina Keller.
